そのAntiVirなんですけど、だいぶ前からデータベースのアップデートができなくなっていたらしい。
# antivir --updateライセンス切れ？ ユーザ登録は不要になったはず。公式サイトに登録する所なんて無いぞ？

アレコレ探し回ってフォーラムで解決方法を見つけた
→ Defect licencefile in older AntiVir Personal Classic for Unix
書いているようにライセンスファイルをダウンロードして
# rm -f /usr/lib/AntiVir/hbedv.key
# rm -f /usr/lib/AntiVir/personaledition_classic.key
# cp hbedv.key /usr/lib/AntiVir/

それとWindowsのチェックするためと書いてますがLinux用ウイルスも検査する機能はあるのでしょうか？

から配布ページにいけるようです。上に書いたライセンスファイルもありました。

もちろんWindowsだけでなく、ウイルス定義ファイルはLinuxやMac OSにも対応している…はず。
でもLinuxに感染するウイルスは極端に少なく、ほとんどというか全くといっていいほど流通してないですけどね。
